The school year may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean our educational outreach efforts slow down at the Obs.  We keep on crankin’ away.

Check out what’s happening this summer at our Weather Discovery Center located in North Conway, NH.

It’s Subaru Science in the Mountains: A Passport to Science!  Through videoconferencing technology, we’ll connect you with interesting people doing interesting work in a number of scientific fields.  For six weeks, every Wednesday at 7 PM, beginning July 16, we'll visit Alaska SeaLife Center, Space Center Houston, University of Rhode Island to talk to Dr. Isaac Ginis, South Pole, National Baseball Hall of Fame - baseball is science too -  and Seacoast Science Center.

Admission is free!  …thanks to the support of Subaru and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation – North Country Region.

And that’s not all!  As we move into our summer season the education crew gear up for camp programs at our Weather Discovery Center and at the camp sites, tours at the summit as well as live virtual tours a.k.a. Live from the Rockpile, which is presented at the WDC daily at 11:15 AM and 2:15 PM.  And, of course, we are designing new programs for the next school year.

Thank you to all of the students and teachers who participated in our outreach programs this year!  I look forward to seeing you all again next year, whether it’s at your school, the WDC or through video conferencing.

Have a great summer!  Oh, and remember “When Thunder Roars Go Indoors!”
