Ready to inject some excitement into your career—and your lesson plans? Mount Washington Observatory redefines professional development with exciting training opportunities available at our mountaintop weather station, our interactive science museum, or the venue of your choice via live video conference.
Get out of the classroom and discover just how fun science education can be!
Each year, we dedicate one of our famous winter EduTrips just for teacher training. Led by staff from the New Hampshire Science Teachers Association, you'll join with like-mined professionals and embark upon an overnight adventure to the Home of the World's Worst Weather.
Your educational expedition will begin with a ride up the tallest peak in the Northeast aboard our heated snow cat—a thrilling adventure in and of itself—and continue with a guided tour of our famous mountaintop weather station. There, you'll learn how to bring weather education to life with fun, hands-on experiments and activities that you can take back to your classroom.
Rediscover your passion for science education through experiential training sessions at our place or yours. We will design a customized program, tailored to your group's specific needs, with take-home lessons, activities, and experiments gleaned from our many years of scientific exploration on Mount Washington.
Past programs have included such topics as:
Programs may be conducted at our weather station on Mount Washington, the Weather Discovery Center in North Conway, New Hampshire, or via interactive video conference.
