A two day trip through Evans Notch, Dixeville Notch, Pinkham Notch, Crawford Notch, and Franconia Notch. Some great site for sure. 8 moose, 1 rabbit, many frogs, and too many tourists among the sights.

Trip notes: A moose on the Tuckerman Ravine trail not far from the lodge. Maybe five minutes into the trail. A few picture sof that moose in the set. Also check under videos for a better shot of him.

Berlin NH: What happened in this town? I saw many building that were burnt down. All still sitting there? Is there a rash of arson there?

Gorham: Do not stay at the Gorham Motor Inn. 3 rooms and something wrong in each. From broken smoke detector to broken lights to non working tv to no ability to turn on hot water in the shower. The beds were terribly hard as well. A waste of my money which caused me to have to listen to the wife. Then the next morning Dunkin Doughnuts couldn't get our order right or priced right!! $10.50 for two ice coffees and a muffin. hhhmmmm Took way too long to get that fixed. lol

Funny: In Dixeville Notch we are poking around near the road. A siren is hear din the distance so we come back and expect to see an ambulance or police car flying past us. Well not quite. A JEEP with no doors come saround the corner with lights flashing and siren blaring. Two heavyset guys in tank tops apparently off to save the World. It was just a sight to see.

All in all though a wonderful trip with some very nice small hikes and wonderful sights. Lost Pond, Glen Ellis Falls, Crystal Cascades, Beaver Brooke Falls, Emerald Pool, Cannon Mtn Tram, The Basin, Kinsman Falls, and more.

It was funny. He just stopped and seemed surprised to see us. Then right in the woods just off the trail till just past and back on it. I am sure others coming up Tucks got a nice surprise too.

I just drove through Dixville Notch yesterday; there are still snow patches on the North-facing slope! They appeared to be the natural kind too, not man-made. Wow.
