Can anyone confirm that a femake hiker had falling about 25 feet while hiking Mt. Washington's Tuckerman Revine over the August 11th-12th weekend?
Appearently she was taking a picture close to a ledge and a gust of wind blew her off.

thank you

Wow - I was up there but on the western side on Saturday. We saw winds up to 50mph on top and personally measured 20mph at Lakes of the Clouds. I hope she is okay.

I heard about it from another hikers who only heard about it too, so I'm not sure if it's true. I've been looking online for any report about it, but haven't found anything. So I was hoping someone on this forum knew something.

I talked to the Trail and information desk, which also works with rescue operations on the trails at Pinkham Notch visitor center and they have not heard of this accident.

There was a fall very near the summit that weekend by an older woman, although it was only maybe 10 feet and she was just off of Crawford Path. State Park and Observatory staff with assistance from some hikers were able to get her into a State van and down to the base for medical help.

Its funny how stories get exaggerated as they're told.

Thanks for the info. Glad no one got hurt, to seriously anyway.

Thanks for the update and bringing clarity to the story.
