I was looking around the site for resources on other sites that are base on Hiking, camping, or anything White Mountain National Forrest related. Would the webmaster of this site/board be interested in creating a "Links" page or something similar?

I looked around and didn't see anything.

I run a white mountains hiking and camping (http://www.HikingNewEngland.com) website and would love to exchange links.

Let me know. Cheers!

I know it's been ages since I posted this (just found my login), but is there any sort of update on link sharing programs? I'm getting decent traffic and would love to connect.

I would vote for a place here with those kinds of resources. Even a sticky thread in the White Mountain Hikes forum would work. There are lots of good forums and information sites that many of us here use regularly but I'm sure that there are more that we all could learn about and share.

Isn't that already on the MWO main website?

Don't think so - I've never seen it anyway. In any event it would need to be something that people could contribute links to...

Would David Metsky's site (http://hikethewhites.com/)qualify?

Do you mean as a links site or a site to link? I'd certainly say it qualifies as either. VFTT, Mohamed Elozy's site, newenglandtrailconditions.com, rocksontop.com, and MANY more as well.

A part of the question is, I think, that if a web site has a link to another site, then search engines keep track of when those links are used. If your site gets traffic from other sites, you move higher in the search results. So, linking sites together is a "valuable" exercise. I may be technically off base and out of date on this too.

Ah, I misread the post. There are quite a few links on the main page, mostly weather and hiking related, but nothing we can update.

There is no reason you can't start the thread in the general discussion. If enough people request I'm sure we could sticky it to the top.
