OK, I'm a little hesitant to post this after seeing Jim's pictures, but here goes.

So, we had a week off and I promised my wife we wouldn't hike over 4000'. I didn't promise her we wouldn't hike every day, though. Of course I took more pictures than anyone in their right mind will want to look at and wrote my usual rambling reports about each hike. If I haven't scared you off by now, this is what we did:

Hope there's something here you're interested in. We had a lot of fun hiking these and I would highly suggest them all to anyone looking for an easy way to spend a morning or afternoon hiking something a little less taxing.

That's just a perfect way to spend vacation! I can't wait to go read all the reports. Some of the hikes you listed bring back great memories of our previous trips. Others, I haven't heard of, and can't wait to investigate! Beautiful pics!

What a great week that was! :) I finished reading your write ups, and I really enjoyed my vacation with you guys! Those are some fun mountains. We put a lot of miles on the old boots and I'm not even sore! Thanks for "taking me along"!

Hey, when it's still 90 degrees outside in October, what else is there to do?:rolleyes: I'm not going out there any more than I have to!:)

I don't know how you can stand it. I lived in Panama for 36 months while in the Air Force, and now I truly hate temperatures over 80. Call me strange, but I can't wait for the snow. We climbed in 55-65 degrees most of the week and I still sweat like a horse.

I'm endevouring into the trip reports now, but I gotta say, that image for Hedgehog of the reflected birches is simply stunning.

That shot of the mushroom is very cool - very solitary and dark looking. It really caught my eye!

That color reflection you captured of the birches off the river is outstanding! Nice and deep. The color in general reminded me a lot of what we saw last year too.

Well, I would be more depressed if I didn't have a goal. 11 years ago I left college to start a family, ended up working construction, then started my own company. Now it's time to go back to school (Florida State University) and get my degree in meteorology, which is what I have always wanted to do. Maybe one day you and I will be playing hookey together to get some of those great shots.
