I love timelapse video, I think I'm going to have to setup my gear and shoot Mt Washington :)

Here's a video I found..4 minute video of mountains & clouds in Torres del Paine National Park in Chile.

At 00:50 seconds in there's a small (ok probably huge) snow slide off the cliff into the water.

Mount Washington would be a great subject for time lapse. Besides the webcams there isn't much out there.

If you could do it at the same quality as the Patagonia video that would be great.

I've done some test time lapse with my Canon DSLR, but it takes it's toll on the mirror snapping back and forth. I need to get a lower end camera that can take video as well as stills, because those don't have the mirror. Canon G5's are good for this purpose.

The hard part is, you need to have a laptop hooked to the camera to take the shots at set intervals, so it might not be easy to set it up for a few hours up on the mountain.

Still researching though...

What you need is a motion picture camera. Like what they make movies on.

Naaahhhh, no need.

A digital camera can shoot higher resolution than HD (1920x1080) so why not just use a cheap $200+ camera? Since it will snap a photo every x seconds, it will work just fine.

Then the finished video can be output at HDTV resolutions and look really impressive!

Incredibly beautiful, thanks for sharing. I love how the clouds play with the light.
