Sorry for the delayed glad tidings, but the wife and I have been traveling to visit family now that the Christmas rush is over, and just got home. Happily, there are still some places where one is beyond internet access!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and remind you to be nice, rather than naughty, in 2008...

We'll be watching!

Until next year...

Ho! Ho! Ho!

take a long vacation you did a good job again this year

Thanks Charlie. Even though I've had this job for a long, long time (it seems like forever!), it never seems to get old (though it does get harder and harder to get up and down all those chimneys!).

I'll install rungs inside mine to make it easier for you.:)

Thanks Steve! One less chimney to worry about next year! Please be sure to put some non-skid on the rungs.

Like they have for climbing the tower on top of the summit?

I wish all chimneys were as accomodating as the ladder/stairs in the tower! Unfortunately, research done by my elves and I shows that a more elaborate ladder system such as that won't fit in the average chimney. Something along the lines of what you see on telephone poles - individual "steps" - is probably more appropriate. Grooves filed or cut into each step would serve as non-skid (Non-skid tape and the like would burn/melt whenever anyone had a fire in their fireplace!).

Thanks for your concern!

The next chimney I build will be made with bricks left out staggered about a foot apart so you can get your hands and feet in and climb right up.

Not to be impolite Steve, but it seems rather wasteful to build houses with chimneys in Florida, where it is warm just about all the time, and there is almost never any snow!

Rather than build a chimney, you should simply donate the money saved to MWO!

Think about it!

Don't worry about me - I can still get in, even when there's no chimney!
