View Full Version : Rename Marty to Hillary or Edmund
In honor of recently deceased climbed Sir Edmund HIllary, I think Marty should receive a new name.
Rest Off Piste Sir Edmund.

Not a bad suggestion.

It will be hard to choose; "Marty" has its own pull for reasons that are obvious to people who watched channel 8 in years past.

I agree. I thought it was a good suggestion, but the name Marty already has a deep rooting on the summit.
I'm sure some people would balk at the notion of naming him Hillary.

Not to mention, I'd be pissed if somebody renamed me when I was 10 years old.

Not to worry Bill - I haven't read anything here about anyone wanting to rename you...

The name Hillary has too many political connotations. If you rename Marty Hillary I may have to revoke my membership. :)

I agree, I think Marty will be a good name, esp. since he is already used to it.

Yes, that's right, but I'm sure this Marty won't have a 38 year career on the summit.

Yes, again I vote for Marty. He is known by this name by all those who voted for him as well. He IS "Marty the summit cat!"
