Has anyone done a winter edu day trip up Mt. Washington? I'm going to be up in the area the week of Jan. 27 and was thinking of maybe doing one if there are spaces available. I would much rather hike to the top but I can't talk anyone into going with me. What exactly do you do once you get up to the top?

I'm not quite sure what your asking, but if you are asking about the winter Edu trips check out this link:

She is referring to these:

I think after the ride to the summit you have some lunch provided by the volunteer of the week, then a tour of the facility with a formal/informal discussion about the various work done and living conditions. Depending on visibility I'm sure there is walk around the summit. Then the ride back down.

If you are really interested in climbing MW check these sites. If you want to join you need a sponsor and I would be glad to sponsor you. Unfortunately in this day and age I have to warn you about hooking up to hike w/ people you don't know. I know many of the people on these sites and can give you a good idea who is a regular and reputable figure. There are some I would not send you with. If you have questions feel free to PM me.

Those looks like fun. A great opportunity to ride in the snow tractor and hang out on the summit for a day in the winter.

Yes, do read the link that KD posted. Since the daytrips are ferried rides to the top, they offer a different mountain experience than a hike would. To each his own, as they say. I encourage you to read up, ask around, and choose the path that best suits your interests.
