I didn't know about that refuge. Where abouts is it on the NH-ME border?

BTW, I like the white wolf on the top right.

It is in Chatam, NH. There are no signs for it and the road is plowed but not maintained in the winter so it was icy on my visit.

They do have a website.

Look up Loki Clan Wolf Refuge.

Some of the stories behind how the animals ended up there are just sad. The beauty of the place is it is secluded and the animals have large 1 acre plus pens. They are well taken care of too. The sound of the howling was amazing and moving.

Fred and his volunteers do an admirable job.

Wonderful to see the pictures and learn of the shelter. As you enter Stowe and turn right (at the best ice cream cones around) and head north, where is it from there? The Eastman farm is on the right a ways. Before that?

Well.... for me I came up 113 from Fryburg. Took the right by the "Corn Maze Farm" and then on 113 till it turns to the right. You got go straight past a little store. Straight on that road for I think seven or so miles. You pass near a lake and past a small Chatam cemetary. Then the road breaks towards the right and you would have to slow to make the turn. Across from this turn is the road to the refuge.

I know...not great help there but give em a shout and they can direct you better.

I have been asked if anyone can visit. I truly do not know that answer. I emailed them from their website. Asked permission and was given it. Just ask is all I can say..... loki clan wolf refuge

The directions sound like you go north on 113 till you get to the sharp right turn in the village of Stow. The general store and bakery is on the left at that turn. Go straight for 1.5 miles (not sure how you get 7 miles - which is where I am confused) and 113B turns sharp right at Chatham. Go straight on Toad Hill Rd at that point.

Did I get this right or is the 7 miles for real?

After the store it is around 7 miles to the dirt road that it is located on. The dirt road is roughly 1.5 miles long to the refuge. It is right on the Maine-NH border. In fact the animal pens are in Maine.
