View Full Version : White Tailed Deer in the area?

I'm from WI and plan on coming out this summer. Looking around the site, it looks like there are a lot of Moose around the Presidential Range. Now my question would be whether or not you have seen any white tail deer. Why I ask is because recently in one of my NaturalResource classes I heard that they cannot coexist due to a brain parasite. I guess this is just a chance to see if this is true!

I had heard also that deer and moose did not like to live by each other. On our street we have several deer - by the lake and also up by a pond. We surely have a moose who wanders through the area every once in a while. He has not been seen recently with all the increased building. ForestGnome may have a good answer since he "Dances with Moose".

It's not so much a matter of "liking" to live together, see the deer can survive with the brain worm parasite, but the moose die off.:o
