I nearly stepped on this rabbit yesterday on Bartlett Mtn. She flushed out but stopped right next to me and froze for a couple minutes. We can see her coat transitioning from winter-white to summer-brown.
happy spring :)
Now why would we be surprised that even the hare stop to say hi to you!
That is really cool to see, and what a sharp shot of it!!!

Thanks! It was wonderful. I've seen them in summer and in winter, but never before in spring, when the coat is changing color.
I think I had a polarizer because the previous shots did. I don't know if it was needed; I just drew and shot with what I had while the cute little creature remained frozen. I was about to change to my wildlife lens for deer or bear, but I still had the 24-70mm lens.
I carry my camera in a case which is attached to the shoulder straps of my backpack, so it rides just below my chest for a quick draw.
happy trails :)
