our hike

so we have a game plan. We're going this Sunday, taking Amm up and Jewell down. Never did westside before, should be fun, def looking forward to it. :)

Wonderful and the weather looks to be real good. Take plenty of pictures for us.

We went up Sunday...we could not ask for nicer weather. We went Ammonoosuc up, got a little of trail by mistake. met up with some snow (slipped a few times....scary and embarrassing). Lake of the Clouds Hut is beautiful....saw some people playing frisbee...very cool. crossed on to Crawford....hit the summit. Lovely day on top, took some pics at the summit sign (took pix of a few other people as well, lol) Had fun at the gift shops.

Started our way down.....took Gulfside to Jewell....fun hike down. We saw the Cog huff and puff its way up, and people on the train took pictures and videos of us!! Strange. Also saw people ski (one of my friends commented on how hikers were a novelty to the car and train people, and how skiers were a novelty to the hikers)

All in all, a wonderful hike, and I love the Amm-Jewell loop....so far my favorite loop. Think I may be a Westside of the mountain girl :)

Mel, thanks for the quick update. Sounds like a wonderful day and lots of fun. Yes, that trail combination is a nice one. It is fun when you realize you are right there at the Lakes of the Clouds.

Sounds great! That is one of my favorite hikes as well. It was the first trail combo I did on Mt Washington back when I was 15. Can't wait to see your pics!

My wifey and I are doing the same trek tuesday assuming the weather is at all fair. Have never done the 'west side' either :D
