Trip to Evan's (Kevin's) Notch 5/27-29/08

For our "Spring Break" we took a trip to an old favorite, Kevin's, er, um, Evan's Notch. We camped at Wild River Campground. On Tuesday we did a sixteen mile hike from the campground through the Wild River Wilderness, crossing the summits of Shelburne Moriah and Mount Moriah and returning by the Moriah Brook Trail to the campground.

On Wednesday we took it easy and did a short hike, again right out of the campground, up to Rim Junction. Wildflowers littered the forest floor on both sides of the trail.

On our way home on Thursday we couldn't resist another short hike, this one to Blueberry Mountain. It was a beautiful summer like day.

The wildflower photos are wonderful. Spring is certainly here! Glad to see Emma back on her feet again.

Black flies and mosquitos were annoying at lower elevations, especially when the temps climbed. Non-existent above 3000'.
