We were looking to head up Mt. Wash and wanted to go up tuckermans, and we didn't know when the show is gone enough to head up the trails. We have some friends in for the summer from college and there leaving in the end of July. We were planning to go next weekend, but by looking I'm gathering there's still plenty of snow and it wouldn't be safe. I know it's hard to guess when snow will melt, but does anyone know when it usually becomes safe to travel the trail up the ravine? Thanks!

Next weekend...no, end of July....yes.
I'm guessing it will melt out sometime in between, but I have no idea. Rain, warm nights and fog will help speed the process. You can always go up Lion's Head and get a great view into the ravine.

End of July, huh? Man, I love New Hampshire. :)
I'm heading up that way too on Saturday; maybe I'll bring a thermos for a snowball I can bring home for my sister....;)

Were gonna take the advice and move the trip back to july 20th area
Here is a picture of Tuckermans Ravine taken this afternoon. The large area of snow on the left is at the base of the Headwall. Tuckermans trail goes up the Headwall on the right side of the snow.
