But I've been looking online and I'm having a hard time finding a hotel options for staying up there. We were looking to stay just for a night or two, not really looking for anything big in the town or surrounding area. Just close proximity to Pickham notch, cheap would be better. Figured if there was anyone who was a little more local to the area could help. I've been looking for different things in Gorham cause that seems to be a little closer than Jackson. Thanks for any help.

Stay here all the time, reasonable and you get a break at Crabby Jack's.

You can also see if there are nights available through the AMC at the Pinkham lodge. You can't get much closer than that!

Kevin, their local attractions web page is an excellent resource for folks "from away".

Thanks for the suggestion on the Mt Madison Kevin. We're staying for the 5 days following STP (at AMC huts and Highland) and picking our daughter up on Thursday at Pinkham after an AMC Teen Wilderness trip. Had been planning to drive home Thursday night but after seeing the rates ($74/night) and available rooms at the Mt Madison coupled with your recommendation we're going to hang around an extra day. Already feeling the relief of not driving home on Thursday night while we are all dead tired.

That hotel looks much better than the one's we were looking at. We already booked it. Thanks for the suggestion
