Lions Head is open. Not sure about the ravine though. Hopefully somebody else can help.

I just saw a picture of the Tucks trail, with people still skiing on it. Certainly not open yet, and I wouldn't count on two weeks. Looks like a good time to explore the Lion Head trail, which splits from the tucks before the closed section, and meets back up afterwards...

Enjoy the hike!

As of June 25th, the last official report I read said the trail was still closed due to excessive snow. That is not to say it will be closed during STP 08 but I wouln't call that my main route, more of an alternate route as of now. WIth all the rain and warm temperatures we have been having, there is a slight chance it will be gone by then. Lions Head is open 100% though.

My grandsons want to head back into the ravine to have a picnic lunch on the snow. We will be watching the weather at the end of next week or right after the July 4th weekend. When we get back in there I will post pictures, etc.

We are looking at getting back in there tomorrow. Today is my day to drive for waterskiing so we would have gotten a late - and hotter - start. It will still be hot tomorrow.

We did get back to the Headwall yesterday (to have lunch on the snow). There were folks going up the Headwall heading for the summit, but not many. The trail looked fine.

The snow arch looked fine too. Here are the pictures

This was the youngest's first real hike and he did very well. He liked going down a lot better. The snow was a good reason for going up and sticking with it.

The water at the hand pump just past Ho-Jo's was wonderful and cold!

That's where I fill up my bladder for the hike up the headwall.

how many spots do you find on trails that you trust drinking the water with out a filter

None. One bout with giardia will convince you.

Lets see - from Tim & Val. From Mary. From Bill O. From Steve. They are all a good source of drinking water - if you can catch them.
