Katie and I headed up to New Hampshire to attempt a one day traverse of the Presidential Range. We had awesome weather and an awesome day!
The taxi met us at the Highland Center at 6am. At 7am we started up at Appalachia on the Valley Way trail. We then took Watson Path to the summit of Madison. We then summited Adams, Jefferson, and Clay. We made our way to Mount Washington summit at 2pm and at 2:30 decided to keep on going. It was very cloudy on the summit but once we got down it was great!
Next we passed Lake of the Clouds Hut and tackled Monroe, Franklin, Eisenhower, and Pierce. We felt that we were on a great pace and decided to hit Jackson and Webster. We arrived at the Highland Center at 8:30pm and walked up to the parking lot to get our car.
We had a blast! It was also great for me to see the traverse in the summer. After doing it last winter I now see where and how we got lost, and in some cases how close to danger we really were. I learned to do these trips in the summer first with good visibility before going off and doing this in the winter.
