View Full Version : Nephelococcygia
Okay, I have no idea how to pronounce this - but i have been doing it for years.
Nephelococcygia is just a fancy word for seeing shapes in clouds.
Ok, how about this lady I "grabbed" a couple of years ago?

Very cool - she's even dressed in pink. I do this all the time too (and can't pronounce it either). One of my favorites was a "dragon" that flew across the sky and eventually ate the summit of Mt Washington (as seen from Red Bench). Will have to dig through the photo archives for that one. Never heard and negative reports from the OBS crew so apparently it was a gentle dragon...
I wonder if the definition covers "in radar maps" as well.

It must - at least in the case of "the pink lady".
Here's the "dragon sitting on Mt Washington" taken from Red Bench last February.

I've also been going through my pictures from last week and have a whole series of cool cloud shots taken from the porch at Zealand Hut on Tuesday evening. I've never seen some of the interesting effects in clouds before. Made of a good way to relax at the end of the day. Will post them soon...
This polar bear just showed up in the West camera.

Yes, I am a little tired after having to chase that polar bear away from the summit. Tough work.

Maybe a little off on a tangent but I think this picture (captured at the Obs) looks like a squirrel, tail to the left, with argyle socks that has been run over by a car. You can even see the heart in the photo.
Back to your regularly scheduled program while I go to take my meds.;)

I thought since everyone knows me anyway what's the sense having a discrete name.
Back on topic, I found Daffy while on the mountain.

What a beautiful shot! Sure makes me want to be on the summit for either sunrise or sunset (or better - both)!

Very nice rubber ducky. Clouds are great! It looks like it's sitting in the palm of a hand too.
