I've never tried shooting the stars before, these came out kinda neat.
Of course, I had the camera pointing one way in the sky and a freaking shooting star crossed right where I had been shooting before that, ugh.

You need to get rid of any extraneous light, but these are great 1st tries. #7 is the best IMO.

The last shot was a bulb exposure, so it was a few minutes long.
I pointed to that part of the sky because while taking the previous shot, a meteor shot through over my truck.
Of course, I set a long exposure there and nothing!

And in shot 6, I turned on my little LED flashlight on purpose and waved it around to see how it would affect the shot.
At the end of our dock would be a great spot to do this as it is really dark. That is if the dock were still in.

well, put the dock back in so I can go shoot some stuff!
My son's dock still has a couple of sections still in. Mine is nice since it goes out almost 100 feet from the shore. Joe knows how long it is. ;-)

I think I'll take a run over to Lake Pemigewasset right now, and see what I can get for shots.
