Anyone going?

I might take a jaunt up there, get a few turns in. First day always sucks, not just because of conditions of the mountain, but my physical condition :)

And it's a good excuse to take some nice shots of Mt Washington from across the valley.

Hope it is not as windy tomorrow as it is today. We have solid whitecaps on the lake today.

Hmm....how much does skiing on ice cost? On how many trails? I think I'll pass.

$39 for 4 trails open and 2 lifts.

Just got some new bindings today but having issues with them (K2 Cinch) so guess I won't be riding tomorrow, need to go back to the shop and have them help me tweak these buggers (I was about to throw them out the window tonight, and getting angry while holding a big screw driver is not good)

Only to be a status symbol. Take the lift up, walk to snow, ski, skis off, walk to bottom of mountain. Mmmm, fun. Totally worth the $80!

I could argue that nothing in New England is worth the price even with 100% open

According to the photos link on their website, they opened today for a bit of complimentary skiing.

I totally agree with that!

Except, Butternut. 20 bucks to ski full day midweek. Nice little mountain too.

Do you hate ice or just $70 lift tickets?

Both seem silly. Look at a place like Alta. Twice as much snow (if they got half as much as the east coast it would still be better because they don't get rain wipeouts in January). Cheaper lift tickets. Orders of magnitude more skiable terrain and likewise in the reverse for crowds. 99.7% fewer people wearing jeans as well.

Forgot to mention that its sunnier and warmer.

Whats up? People are not supposed to ski in jeans?

I was up there today. I just got some new boots & bindings, so I was tweaking the adjustments between runs. First day is always the hardest (actually tomorrow morning getting out of bed will be difficult), so I just took it easy and worked on adjusting my new gear.

(yes, I called it a "ski trip" even though I snowboard)

Thanks for a road tour of the Whites. It is interesting to see it snowing at the higher elevations.

Thanks for the "ski trip" Spyboy. Jealous, wont get up there, till after the holidays.

Brad, in the 80's, you were cool if you skied in jeans! Dumb and cold, but soooo cool. lol

Comments: We got 10-14 inches of new powder yesterday and have 8 trails and two terrain parks, Midway and Toy Box, open. They are serviced by 3 lifts, the Bethlehem Express High-Speed Quad, the Learning Center Quad, and Fabyan's Express Triple Chair. Ticket prices are $39 for Adults and teens and $29 for Juniors.
