Here are a few pictures we took along the Kangamangus today. Again felt like sharing.

My daughter seen the eye on the tree trunk between the green branches. How ever I did not notice when I took the picture I focused on the branches instead of the trunk but you can still see the eye. I guess its true the trees have eyes:p

And thank you for sharing, so pretty. The Kank is my favorite to drive, along with Bear Notch Road.

Cool Eye, I guess the forest is watching....

I was going back through some old slides and scanned thm the other day. Here are some pictures of us snowshoeing on the Kanc BEFORE it opened.

We still use those snowshoes! I used a long pair today out on the lake because I did not want to sink in much.

The Kanc was officially completed to Lincoln, NH in 1959. Those pictures were at the Lincoln end the winter of 1958-1959.

BTW, it's spelled Kancamagus, not Kangamangus. The first syllable is pronounced "kan", not "kang". The third syllable is pronounced "mah", not "mang". The Abanaki language does not even have an "ang" sound.

"kan-ca-ma-gus"...not "kang-a-mang-us"...

And it's not really a tourist mistake; plenty of locals do it too. ;)
