Now that is most unique. Being a newcomer and not too familair with moose, I have never even known about albino moose.
Very cool and thanks for sharing:)

I don't know enough about moose biology or Photoshop to believe. This begs investigation, but if it's legitimate it's beyond wonderful.

Subject: Albino Moose - Twins!
Pictures taken in the Moosehead Lake Region around Greenville Maine.
This is quite a sight from Greenville, not one but two albinos (twins).
A rare sighting.
I know not enough about the workings of Photoshop....if I did I wouldn't be wasting my time away as an Archery Tech at GanderMtn. If someone can look at these pictures and tell if they have been "doctored", please let me know! I've got the orginal email saved in Yahoo and I'll forward it to anyone that wants to PM me an email address?

If they're doctored, somebody did a VERY good job. They look real to me. Besides, white moose would have a distinct advantage crossing roads at night.

Are you sure those aren't feral llamas?

These are most likely white moose, not albinos, nor is it trickery with Photoshop. Kristine Rines, Moose Project Leader with NH F&G, said she has seen these images before on the web. She says that true albino moose do exist, but they are extremely rare. She sent me this picture of a white moose taken out west.
This is very cool. It is yet another possible magical moment I dream of experiencing and photographing out in the WMNF.:D

I would love to hear an expert's opinion on what makes white moose. Is it a random mutation?

I received these pictures in an email. Truely beautiful animals. My wife and I enjoy a ride through northern Vermont and New Hampshire to look for moose in June. This is known as the mosse travel month. We have never seen a white moose.
I did a search on the web for 'albino moose' and came up with these same photographs attributed to Maine, Michigan and New Brunswick! I don't know the true originm but nice anyways.
