Very nice

I am trying for a moonset - or pre-moon set this weekend. Moon rise is too early in the day with having to work on Friday - full moon day. So, I am going to see what I can get Saturday morning in the NC mountains at 6:30AM (5 hour drive away from here) before the moon sets before sunrise. It would be great if folks see what we all can capture this weekend and post back here next week.

Last Sunday I got a nice sunrise

I live in Monticello, Florida which is 30 miles east of Tallahassee. That picture was taken in my parents back yard 5 miles from where I live. They have a nice western exposure whereas we have too many trees to get a good shot at sunset.

Am I just off base or do the storms seem to come in from the Gulf and up through your area a lot? This could add to the cloud "action" you seem to have.

We do have a lot of cloud action here. It seems this year we are out of the drought that has plagued this area for the last several years and so we have been getting lots of rain. Funny thing about where I live is, many times, by the time the storms get to us they have weakened significantly. I think this is because by the time the precip reaches us the low pressure center has lifted off to the north thus taking a lot of the energy with it. The western panhandle sees more rain and violent weather than us on average.

I just noticed one of my sunset photos is the banner for the MWO site.

I like the rays filtering through the clouds; it adds something.
