View Full Version : Morning Pictures in Maine
The dog said it was too cold for our walk early this morning - so, I took some pictures (and he watched from the warm car).

Both shots are great but I really like the first one. You really need to get some warm boots for the dog (which you can perhaps borrow after the next full moon).

He has booties but does not like to wear them. I tried and they do not fit me well. My hands are what gets cold with working with the camera. His booties do not fit my hands either.

Even after a full moon? Just curious how you handle the camera in that state as well. Seems the lack of opposable digits would be a hindrance

Beautiful! The second image is an excellent capture of a feeling of "northern New England in winter". It could be on next year's Christmas cards ;)

I Love both, they are just beautiful.
Classic deep winter scenes...love them...last is definately the strongest. The frost sure looks mighty thick!
The first didn't load...

Beautiful pictures Brad. I would love to have a house like the second picture. Thanks for posting.
I posted links to 3 pictures and for some reason the first is not coming up. Fotki is going through a huge set of upgrades right now and have warned us some things might not work.
The first image is before sunrise looking out over Long Lake.
The second image is of Stevens Brook which flows down through town and under a really nice footbridge.
The third image is of the same brook from the side with a red house which really sets the picture. The brook is flowing and no ice is showing up in it yet at all. This is why the mist rises and frosts over the tree branches.
Here is the first image again

Oh, now there's three pics showing. I was referring to the second pic, although the first is also pretty cool.

Maybe we can invent a heated camera with built in heated hand muff.

Especially nice, but I am particularly fond of sunrise and sunset pics.:)
I was headed to town this morning and snagged this picture along the road.

Sweet image. B&W or was the light really that monochromatic?
That is a color photo. Check the signs on the wood beam. And you can see a bit of green in the trees.

That is a great shot. You can see some color in the sky as well.

I was heading to town - talking to my sister on the cell phone. I told her I had to call her back as I needed to stop to get a picture. this was it. It was worth the stop and turn around.

So do you always carry your camera in the car?

I have been carrying my "hiking camera" in the car when just around town. But, if I am heading out for a longer distance the good camera goes in back with the tripod.

I have been taking my camera with me more and more lately because I usually see something I want to take a picture of and regret not having it with me.
