weather in late august and early september

Planning my vacation right now for my visit to the white mountains to hike. Just wanted to know if anyone can please tell me how is the weather in the last week of august and the first week of september for camping and hiking.

I have had someof my best mw hikes over Labor Day weekend. Any time of year the weather can be bad - but I have normally been able to find a great day that weekend. You get later into September or early October and you have to be ready for snow.
