Nice GMC pickup was supposedly pulling his friend's snowmobile out of the water in Meredith when he drove right into the open water at the end of the piers sunday night.
I was in Meredith yesterday and just happened to have my good camera on me, so I stopped and shot these pictures.
The truck was dragged underwater to the front of the docks, where a crane pulled it up.

I hope the driver was okay...the truck looks in fine shape, though in the future I'd put a towel on the seat before sliding into the driver's position...

The paper needs a better copy editor. :D
...where the ice is less thinner...
Is that one of your pics, Kirk?

No I was standing by the boat launch. The different newspapers were out on the ice looking straight in, or over by the ice cream shack side (remains of Frankensundae) of the parking lot.
What a great idea - have an ice cream cone while watching the truck be extracted from the icy waters.

Frankensundae is gone?

Oh Good Lord!! Why in the hell was he on the docks anyway?? He wasn't launching anything.
Yes I enjoyed the grammatical reference myself LOL  where the ice is less thinner http://bestsmileys.com/geek/1.gif

Um, yeah, it was torn down in '99
It's now The Town Docks (yet another Common Man owned place) which plays horrible reggae music (I like reggae but they play some awesome stuff)
The little ice cream shack is the remains of Frankensundae (wasn't it brown with green trim?) Infact, inside the shack on the back wall someone wrote in chalk something about Frankies. I asked if it was in reference to the old Frankensundae and yes, it was.
Frankensundae is gone?

I must have been thinking of some other ice cream place up around the lake. I know I've been to it since '99. Now that I think of it, maybe it was down closer to Weirs. Ice cream, candy, souvenirs, etc.
Haven't been to the lake in 4 years, so I'm foggy on it.
