Cool, thanks Kirk.
one I'll add to that list is called sunrise...basically tells you when the sunrise, sunset, solar noon and moon phase is for your geo location.
Sunrise would be cool to have for folks wanting to watch for photo opportunities.

Any new suggestions for outdoor apps? I bought radarscope which has amazing radar data. Aeroweather is also great for raw and decoded weather obs.

Had a friend show me a "sky tracker" app but unfortunately don't remember the name. Hold the iPhone up to at the sky and it shows a view of the constellations that you're pointing at. Like a Celestron SkyScout - except about $500 cheaper. The accuracy was amazing.
Edit: just did a quick search and I believe that the app is Pocket Universe - http://www.atmasphere.net/wp/archives/2009/06/25/pocket-universe-brings-augmented-reality-to-the-iphone

I've been using a great app for animal tracks by MyNature. It's wireless which is a huge plus.
