Check out that fracture line! The crown is about 9' tall!

Thanks to Dave M. over at VFTT for pointing me to this!

This fracture is really evident even driving through the notch. The description of it in yesterday's report is really a good read...

I saw that on the webcam this morning. Very impressive.
See post made under "webcam" thread.
That is VERY cool! Is the amount of the snow in there so far just CrAzY big? I've never seen a fracture line like that!!

I cleaned the picture up a bit and zoomed in. Incredible site. I would have loved to have seen the avalanche. (From a distance, of course. )

The interesting thing to me is to see how far towards you the snow was carried when it slid! It really filled in the basin.

Nah, I zoomed in. That one in the center is definitely a person. There are even footprints leading up to him/her.
Here you go.

I stand corrected. Seems a precarious spot.

Holy crap. That is nuts.
I called 6'+ in the other thread. Looks like a safe call. Maybe closer to 8'.
It does look like a nasty spot to hang out. You'd be crushed instantly if that thing broke loose.

"Official" observer/scientist or just some curious hiker?
I'd say 9-10' in some areas. That's a lotta snow.

The close-up is on Tuckerman.org, it's one of the snow rangers I believe.

Yep, that's where I shamelessly stole it from. :p

Some is still visible in the hi-res shot. That half-circle is still there. The one dark area to the right I had circled before obviously is a rock as it is still visible there.
