Hi

I am looking for a digital camera for everyday use... I'm no expert, I've been looking around for some and I really like the canon powershot G9. Price isn't too bad either. I read a lot digital camera reviews (http://alatest.com/reviews/digital-compact-camera-reviews/c3-147/) on alaTest. So something with those characteristics is what I am looking for and I don't want to spend over 500 USD... Good quality picture, zoom, etc.... what do you guys thing... I don't care much about brands either, but I've mostly been researching canons. what about the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50? or others similar? Please Suggest me if any.

Thanks.

I have the Canon G9 that I use when hiking and if you click this link this is what I took with my G9. I also have the 5D Mark II :D but that don't go hiking. I am very happy with the results I get from the G9. Good luck.

I have also been looking for a new camera. I've checked out quite a few cameras online and in person. I couldn't find a G9 and felt it was a little out of my price range. But it got great reviews! If there was more money in my pocket, that would be what I got.

I just ordered a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50. My friend has one and I used it quite a bit on a camping trip last year. It takes awesome pics and is easy to use. Dell had a great deal on it and there were some coupons so I was very happy with the price.

My kids liked the Sony because it has the smile finder. Pretty neat feature (if it works). I take a lot of pictures of kids at parties, scouts, 4H, etc. They had a great time trying out the different features in Best Buy! This camera got their approval too!
