Canon has Launched a number of new Powershot digital cameras, among them the PowerShot SX200 IS. With a classic aluminium design available in black, blue or red the Canon PowerShot SX200 IS packs a lot into a compact body, making it the perfect camera for the keen traveller.

Now, i am planing to purchase Canon PowerShot SX200 IS because it would be good reviews to compare other digital camera reviews (http://alatest.com/reviews/digital-compact-camera-reviews/c3-147/) in market because canon is a good brand name of digital cameras.

Interesting that it is not a wide angle lens. I would have to think about this one for a hiking camera without that feature.

12x optical zoom (28-336mm equivalent in 35mm terms)

A 28mm (35 equivelent) is pretty wide angle. 50mm is considered "normal"

It's real, and it was just announced in the last week or so in the runup to the PMA 2009 trade show. That was probably a cut and paste from the press release.
