I did a quick day hike up Mt. Pierce on Friday and wanted to share the pictures. There were really only two major highlights of note on this trip:


I met a man celebrating his birthday on the summit: 69 years old! (He beat me down the mountain too)
I got to talk with a Grey Jay during my descent and he even let me take pictures and feed him. That was a first for me .. and very cool.

Hope you enjoy. It was not the easy hike I had thought it would be. But, I really enjoyed the views and the hike.

Another great day Corey. I'm getting really jealous of this recent string of hikes of yours. Great to take advantage while you can! The Grey Jay seemed to really take a liking to you. (Must have had good snacks):rolleyes: Meeting one of these little guys for the first time is definitely a cool experience. The good news is that if you keep going up there and have food they'll be back.

Great pictures! Those gray jays are wonderful. We must have been on Pierce within an hour of when you were there. We were on our way to Eisenhower, which we "had" to climb because the AMC 4000 Footer Committee rejected an earlier climb (for the Winter 4000's) because it occurred on a day when the winter solstice came after we finished our climb. (We didn't mind having an excuse to do it.) Here is an explanation:

Great pictures Corey. I wish my hike that day was as clear as that. But hey I got to feed the Grey Jays also. I thought that was great. Thanks for sharing.
