Old Faithful Geyser webcam is great if you tune in at the right time. Check out the live streaming video webcam at Old Faithful Geyser Live! You can see Buffalo walking around in the background and many different geysers. The Geologist in me loves it.

Cool. I caught it erupting.

I'm still awed by the Ramsau sunrises.

Mark, funny because as I was out taking "fogrise" pictures at Meredith I went to that camera on my cell phone and saw a morning picture. It was great and I sent it up to Facebook to save it. It is interesting how in the winter the sun is very low over the ridge and the only spot in the sunlight is the church.

I like how if you catch it really early in the morning you get the sun on the mountains only. Quite the scene.

The Yellowstone webcam is heavily frosted today, but you can still see the geyser.

Two things are striking in this image of Ramsau from this morning: the sunrise colors and the sudden lack of snow, which is also reflected in the stream volume. I saw it was in the 70s this week in Nuernberg. We're looking at low 30s and snow here, and we're several hundred miles lower in latitude. Sigh. Wish I were in Germany.

Here's one of the only church views that I've seen that rivals Ramsau. Just ran into it yesterday on the Yosemite Facebook page. Wish it was a webcam image...

Did find some really nice webcams in other parts of Yosemite though.

I hope I'm not overdoing it here, but the sunrises at Ramsau just leave me in awe.

Mark,

As I was driving on Friday I saw the sunrise picture with the light hitting the church - and posted it to Facebook. I love to check this out too. Maybe you and I NEED to go there and take pictures from a lot of different angles.

Maybe so. At this time of year, it's not even an early wakeup to catch that shot in Ramsau.

I just sent a suggestion to the Zeitcam.com (http://zeitcam.com/index.php) time lapse webcam site to add the Ramsau cam. Hopefully we'll have some nice daily Ramsau movies soon...

Here's another webcam I love. (http://212.50.142.226:8082/cgi-bin/guestimage.html) It's mounted on a ferry between mainland Finland and an island called Hailuoto. What I find fascinating is how fast the length of daylight changes that far north. Just a few weeks ago it was dark for about 20 hours per day. Now it's light from early morning until 10PM or so. In the summer it will be light all the time.

If you back out the :8082 in the url, you get the cam looking the other way.

Oh my goodness - a two-headed Norse-cam. I will have to check it out tomorrow morning.

Another beautiful day in Ramsau. Mother Nature always supplies the best lighting. We're planning a trip over there for October. Maybe I can grab my own images.
