I like the way that first photo is edited for a muted, atmospheric effect. But I have to admit I'm disappointed--when I saw the thread title, I thought "fencing" was going to be two people fighting with rapiers!:)

Part of the beauty in Debbie's first photo in this thread is the simplicity. The fence is not busy, but there is a lot to see in it - especially the way the boards are mounted on the granite posts.

There is a cemetery in Fryeburg, Maine with granite posts along one whole side. It is beautiful. Some day I will see what I can do to get a picture of it and not get the messy background.
