OK- If Bearly Live and the ADK BBQ weren't enough to quench your party thirst, here's a chance to keep this thing going ALL SUMMER!
Judy and I will be celebrating our 13th anniversary on Sunday, August 16th. We've met a lot of you great folks on the trail. Others we only know through the forums. Here's a chance to get together face to face! We expect a lot of family, co-workers and friends, but we want to see our hiker friends too!
What we propose is that for those who want to they can hike whatever on the 15th and stop by post hike and camp the night. We have enough room on flat, open ground for as many as want to. We live on a 99 acre pond that is great for flat-water paddling so you're invited to bring canoes and kayaks.
Itinerary is something like this:
Saturday the 15th afternoon /evening: Arrive, set up camp, eat. There will be a 20X30 party tent already set up. Tables and chairs to eat under tent, or if the weather is bad we could even set tents up under it.
Saturday evening: Weather permitting- sunset paddle, return for bonfire/drinking/war stories, etc. (Quiet down around 10-11pm due to close proximity to neighbors.)
Sunday morning- Weather permitting- Sunrise paddle, breakfast.
12 to 2PM Sunday- Catered buffet under tent. That's right, we feed you!
2 to 6PM LIVE MUSIC/party/drink/dance whatever.
OH YEAH, almost forgot, there'll be a giant, 2 lane waterslide for ALL AGES! This will be a kid friendly event, but we adults may just take over the waterslide if it gets hot enough!
What you need to bring- If you're camping you'll need food for Saturday night and Sunday morning. There are several restaurants nearby as well as a DD's. Sunday mid-day meal is on us. Camping gear will need to be packed up by noon.
Paddling- Please be sure to have PFD's for all in your canoe.
Sunblock, something to get wet in, and beverage of your choice.
There will be a porta potty on site. Sorry, no showers, but there is a pond!
IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND OR WANT MORE INFO- PLEASE PM OR EMAIL FOR DIRECTIONS:
