View Full Version : How jammed will the Guyot campsite be this weekend?

I'm not terribly concerned about it but, an overnighter to Zealand/Guyot/Bonds tomorrow is a bit later in the season than I'm used to. I'm sure there'll be platforms available at least, right?

Normally, I'd assume that there's plenty of room (with an early jump on the day, that is). Being Columbus Day weekend though, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

It was extremely busy on Saturday night...even with the rain and the cold. Julie Anne (caretaker) counted 92! She was putting people anywhere she could squeeze them in. She put us on the path where it splits to go to the shelter, water and bathroom...with two other tents. Overall it was a pretty peaceful group considering the number of people. Emptied out on Sunday so we moved up to a tent platform.

I ran into the Guyot caretaker Sunday. He said they had 95 at the site Sat night.
I believe the regular capacity is 35.
I hope all were well behaved.
