After a bit of a warm spell, it did ice up yesterday... likely very slick...

Very sad indeed. It's always hard to hear about a fellow hiker losing their life. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family.

I am very sorry to hear about this. Does anyone know where he fell? Was it on one of those awkward, steep pitches of the Lions Head trail below treeline, or was it further up, above treeline?

From the other online accounts it sounds like he was on the headwall, not Lion Head. So very sad. My heart goes out to his family.

Very sad news, but at least he died doing something that he loved. Though that is little consolation to his family and friends
