I attempted it on Columbus Day weekend but was turned around once we approached the steep section and found newly formed ice. Since then I know that a great deal of the snow and ice on the mountain melted off, but there may be some more that recently formed.
I am thinking of hiking it sometime this week if the conditions are adequate. Has anyone been in the area recently?

only wish I was up there to tell the story, but I'll have to rely on cams

I just checked the ravine cam and it's totally black!!!!:D.....and 6am.

Huntington was completely ice and snow free on 11/13 and it has been mostly above freezing since then, but the ravine cam (in the daytime) is probably a good bet. The weather this week looks dicey (lots of rainy stuff) for a nice hike though.

Remember that all the MWO web camera images get archived off to a photo sharing web site - and have for about 3 years. The ravines images for this month are at http://public.fotki.com/MWO/saved/2009/ravines-archive/
