This forecast looks good to me!!! Bring on the snow.:) I will be in Manhattan tomorrow Christmas shopping, so I hope the snow line reaches up there too.

My niece is heading to DC on Sunday to start a new job with the National Park Service. I hope she can make it there!

Better this week than next. This happened last year, too. Folks couldn't get out to shop and only had the day before Christmas to do it.

The forecast for the CT shore is 4-8". I have food, booze, cats, Wii, DS. Will have new tires tonight, and the bf's heading down here.

Bring on the snow (after I get my tires)

It's ruining my weekend plans!!

Only 2 to 5 here in Western MA. Maybe an extra inch for me because I live a few hundred feet farther up than the surrounding pioneer valley.

Was not able to get the tires :( Will have to set off early tomorrow morn. Bummer

The show has not reached my area yet. But it's really dark outside.

Looks like I will be staying put this weekend, it's ok I could use the rest. Maybe bake some more today.:)

Nothing really forecasted for up here in New Hampton, NH. It's been cold and dry. We might get a dusting to 1" but that's just normal winter activity for us ;)

Did all of you in the path of the storm do your typical panic shopping? You know, toilet paper, bread and milk? :) (hey, I grew up in NJ, so I remember those items were always gone in the stores, and that was when 2-3" was forecasted)

12-19-2009, 10:27 AM
its on the way north we are at 6" and at least 10" more to come

Just got off the phone w/ a friend outside Baltimore. They're supposed to get 25-30" now, wow!

Wish we had that up here!

Yes, indeed SpyBoy predictions are up to 30" or more of snow before it ends early Sunday morning. This feels and looks more like New Hampshire than Baltimore.

The Ravens were scheduled to play at 1 pm on Sunday but it was pushed back til 4:30 pm; that's if the Chicago Bears can get here. They are still in Chicago waiting for a flight.

Here are some photos from this morning.

The most intensive part of the storm has yet to arrive.
It's so bad here that we even saw a moose in our front yard.

We will try and get out snowshoeing tomorrow after digging out 3 houses in our neighborhood.

Happy Holidays!

Nice Moose...:D

The flakes are now starting to fall here.

I did run out to the store, tried to run into Costco, but no way. At 10:15 they already had police directing traffic, the parking lot was an accident waiting to happen, so I left. I did pick up a few things at the store though, went to the bagel shop for fresh hot bagels and the bakery for bread.

I just got home, there is alot of snow outside and really raw and windy.

12-20-2009, 11:59 AM
At first I thought we only got 5", but we just came in from shoveling....I thinks it closer to 8", though my neighbor said the shoreline got a foot.

So glad I got a new shovel....it makes cleaning the cars so much easier.

Still just staying in today....CT drivers tend to forget how to drive every storm.

Here's what it looked like north of Philly this morning before the sun came out.

And here is what little snow Manhattan had yesterday around 4pm.

Charlie, I can't believe your shoveling in shorts.:D

Just thought I'd let everyone see what it looked like at our home in the storm today.

I started shoveling at 4AM while Gary was still sleeping.Good thing we got an early start because we went out 3 more times after that before we finally finished.

The weathermen said we got 20inches here. But the drifts were much higher as you'll see in the following picture:

One of the best things that this storm left us was with was one of the most spectacular sunsets I've seen here in a long time.

I've tried to do them in sequence as the sun went down:

Hope you enjoyed our sunset tonight:)

Now it really feels like Christmas with all this snow.

From Gary,Nigel, the kitties and I we want to wish all our forum members and their families the very happiest, healthiest and safest of holidays!!!!!

P.S. Hope Santa is good too;)

Here in the Jersey Shore it was a typical Noreaster, we had blizzard conditions most of day and it ended up being 22 inches which for this area is a rare occurence. Last time we received this much was back in 2003.

After receiving 20" here in Maryland, we took a little snowshoe hike at a local State Park after shoveling out. Here are a few pictures:
