What does this subject mean? That is the license plate for the 2010 Subaru Outback I picked up today!

Yes, the car came in and the dealer had it all ready for me this afternoon. First off I have to say Profile Subaru is wonderful! For a car they did not sell - they only get their dealer prep costs covered - they did everything possible to make sure the car was ready to be delivered - full tank of gas - got it registered - gave the car a wash - and then spent over a hour making sure I knew everything button, switch, touch screen option. well, this car came with options they had never seen before - so, we were learning together.

What is on the car?

2010 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited wagon

- Color = Harvest Gold (a new color this year)
- Leather seats = leather color
- Wood grain dash accents
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- Brake assist (for parking on hills)
- 4-cyl engine (the 6-cyl is an option but gas mileage suffers)
- Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) (very cool! There is no shifting to 2nd then 3rd or downshifting on hills. You put it in Drive and it goes. There is no feeling of shifting at all)
- 17-inch wheels
- Roof rack cross bars swing back into the front-back rails to prevent wind noise
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- 440 watt Harmon/kardon 9-speaker stereo
- Bluetooth Hands-free phone connection (through the stereo system)
- 10-way power driver's seat
- 4-way power passenger's seat
- Power windows, door locks and mirrors
- Heated seats, mirrors AND wiper blades!
- Carpeted floor mats
- Cargo area floor mat
- 8 cup holders
- Power moonroof
- Navigation System with voice controls, USB connection for stereo, AUX jack for iPod or laptop, rear vision camera, CD player, DVD player (only works when parked), bluetooth connectivity
- Full tank of gas
- All weather floor mats also
- Front hood protector
- Puddle lights (really look cool when you get out of the car at night)
- Rear bumper cover
- Splash guards
- Sirius Satellite kit (no subscription included)
- Trailer hitch
- Remote car starter
- Upgraded mirror (was supposed to be included - we will talk about this one)

Total MSRP is $33,199 (not including the remote car starter) on the window sticker

Between the dealer and home (about 25 miles) I got 24.6 MPG on back roads. this will be interesting to watch.

Congratulations Brad! The picture of you getting the keys with you and the manager wearing contrasting STP fleeces is a nice touch. Did he have his own or was the black one yours from last year?

Ah, another Suby owner. The first new car I ever bought and the first Suby I have every owned is my current 06 WRX Wagon. It's unstoppable in the snow!

Sounds like you have yourself an awesome vehicle there! 24 mpg before the motor is even broken in, and in cold weather is pretty good. Enjoy!

Mark,

The dealer manager has a MWO-Subaru jacket. I am not sure who organization gave it to him, but he wears it all the time. He is a great MWO supporter - has Subaru VIP forms for MWO folks right on his desk.

The dealership just turned on a cool service bay. when you drive in for service you drive right to a garage door - it opens and you drive in. So, you get out of the car inside the building out of the cold, rain or snow. Then the car goes through a set of tests which include brakes, suspension and alignment while you are checking the car in. There is no charge for these tests. They talk in terms of how long it will take to get all their customers' cars through the tests.

Plus, the whole facility has wi-fi which I like.

Chris,

The Sales Manager showed me all the features of the car. When he started he asked if I had ever owned a Subaru. I explained this would be #6 and Subaru is all my wife will drive. So, he only went through the things that had changed - and that took an hour and a half! I am sure that if I told him I did not know how to drive yet - he would have taught me. I have worked with good dealers before, but these folks are on a different level and very proud of the awards they have received.

I know you have been waiting patiently for this car and it sounds like it was worth the wait. I hope you enjoy it and who knows, you may want to keep it at the end of the lease.

Brad

Officially I can not extend the lease or buy the car since it is a marketing/promotion deal. however, I am hoping to have the dealer get it at auction and sell it to me.

Very nice instrument cluster! Racking up 1,009 miles in three weeks doesn't sound too bad, especially for how far apart things are up in NH & ME. Besides, Subys are good for at least 250K miles aren't they? I haven't owned one since 1983.

We have had 6 Subaru's - and a few other types of cars. We have never gotten rid of a car with less than 200,000 miles on it. I am hoping to be able to buy this one at auction when the lease expires. It is very nice.

we will see in two weeks if the Suby can fit a 6'4" 275 lb person in the car for a day ride around NE

Yes, he does. But, the 2010 Outbacks are so much better! The MWO new cars are on the way and he should be okay in a month or two.
