First time on Mt. Washington

Hi everyone,

I was reading posts in this forum for a while and I'm impressed. Very informative and useful.

I will be trying to get to a top on coming weekend (hoping for a good weather) and I have question: How well is a trial marked? Is it easy to get lost? I will go through Lion's Head.

Hey man,

Well finding the winter route is easy. Follow Tux trail to the fire road junction and follow that till you see the orage sign where the trail up lions head starts. The hike to lions head is pretty marked all the way up you wont have a problem. From lions head, it can get tricky. Ive been up in iffy weather and didnt know where I was going.....thats when wands helped a ton. On the summit cone there are cairns which are easy to follow if you can see them. Pretty much use your head, make smart choices. Youll be fine. I should be up there too. MAybe Ill see you around.
