The Second Blizzard of 2010

Well once again we were hit with another blizzard. Although not as much snow fell as the first one, we did however, have much stronger winds. Some wind gusts surpassed 50 mph.
This is officially the snowiest winter ever in Baltimore with 80.2 inches, with the previous record being 64.8 inches. Our average snowfall for the region is 18.2 inches.
This video is from the height of the storm on Wednesday 2/10.

On Wednesday the Mayor of Baltimore implemented Phase III of the snow emergency plan.
This meant than no vehicles except those for emergencies should be on the road and those that are will be ticketed.
I haven?t been able to get to work for two days now.
All we do is shovel, shovel and shovel and it?s getting harder and harder to find places to put this stuff.
There is a possibility of another storm coming this weekend; however, it should only produce a couple of inches of additional snow.

wow that sure is alot of snow. I have some friends that live in Boonesborro Md. and now I see what they are complaining about. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

BRAD, I don't think we have EVER shoveled so much snow that we can recall here in Baltimore.

CHRIS, I never thought I would say this but "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". Boonsboro is our old stomping ground where we would hunt years ago. It's a nice town.

ANNE, Thank you again. There's a clipper coming thru this evening with 3" predicated. Hope that's all.

BOB The shovels aren't quite worn out yet; but my hands are showing several blisters and calluous that have developed. Has anyone ever hears of "carpel shovel syndrome?"

We're getting pounded here now. Yesterday a ton of heavy slude mostly, but about a foot over night with winds. It's supposed to snow through tomorrow. Wow..

Great pictures Kathy!! Did you guys lose power at all?

We got torrential rain and gusty winds but no snow.


If anyone has a kayak you could paddle it around in our backyard now.:p
