I had a hard drive failure so I didn't know we were going to be picking dates.
Can I get in for the 13th?

I don't think it would be fair to the other contestants. You still have a shot at runner-up if your number hits.

Bill, I assume that you are using the edit function to add the status to your original post at the top of this thread. That looks to be a good, efficient use of space. Everyone should just have to glance at the first post of this thread to see the results. The only problem that I see is that the status on the list of forums does not show that anything has been added.

I'll figure something, I realize editting a post doesn't generate a new post icon. Don't worry though Patrad, I think your smiley face is going to dissapear in the next few hours...sorry.

Bill,
Just to clarify, we are talking fahrenheight not celsius, right? Those scales get pretty similar at negative temps.

Yes, everything here is in Fahrenheit.
I have to say folks, I got a very pleasant surprise in the mail today. My wife explained that an envelope was waiting for me. I saw the name and address and knew right away it was - - - my prize! Being the 2nd place finisher in the January temperature contest I received a wonderful photo from Bill O!
Oh my, it is nice. Please understand that my wife can not figure out why I love Mt Washington so much - or why I like to hike back in Tuck's in the winter to take pictures - or that I spend so much time watching the Observatory's web cameras on any computer I can get my hands on. But, she saw the picture and she loved it. "We have to get it framed right away!" - was her words. Very nice. Thanks Bill. Thanks also to my guessing machine for picking a winning number. And most of all, thanks to Columbus for teaching me to type.
He showed us how to "Search for a key and land on it."

The Morning Report says -26 degrees. I thought it was going to get colder than that last night. But the winds have held strong all night. The Report says the peak gust was 127 MPH!
Don't worry though Patrad, I think your smiley face is going to dissapear in the next few hours...sorry.
But...I hope my smiley will stick around!:D

Looks like we already have a winner. I'm not closing the book yet, but the weather forecast certainly is.

Everyone thank Bill for his out-of-pocket prize offering. This organization has always relied on the generosity of the public. Sometimes it's in the form of a digital camera, a refrigerator, or a board game to make summit life happier. This time it's a scenic photo.
Whoopie! :D
I actually thought that the low would be much lower and that I wouldn't have a chance. I look forward to my new photo of Tucks!
Thanks so much for running this contest!
The picture I got last month from Bill is awesome! I love it.

Well worth the struggle to get the picture! At least Bill did not force to pick it up in person at the summit - within 30 days.
I Haven't been here in a few days but wanted to come on to say my new photo of Tucks from Bill is beautiful. I received it about three days after this last post. Quality all the way!!! It looks great hanging in our NH room in our CT house. I almost feel guilty accepting this piece of art as all I had to do was enter a few key strokes!! :o but, I will.
Once again...a huge THANK YOU!
