My dilemma is this- IF the weather gives me enough of a window on Saturday, should I hike Jackson, or Pierce?? I have done Pierce before, in the summer, and think it has a better view of the presi's with the snow etc...I have not hiked Jackson before, and hear that it might be easier? With that said, is easier best saved for summer when I'll have rocks and roots to consider? Also, since I haven't been that high up in the winter, should I opt for snowshoes, or my trusty microspikes. Everything we've done already this winter has called for nothing more than microspikes since the trails are so packed down. I hate to need snowshoes and not have them, but carrying them is a pain if they aren't really necessary! Help please...I know it'll be a long day and want to make the best of it. My heart says that Pierce will be lacking in views and that's kind of my reason for wanting to do it in the winter....
