We finally climbed Denali! Woohooo! Above is the link to the trip report and the pictures! It was the best 19 days of my life and way harder emotionally than physically. Bye the way, the whites are a great place to practice winter camping for Denali. January and February are way colder than May on Denali! :)

Kristina -
Awesome! Great TR - Looks like you battled through some tough moments - not unusual for McKinley. It's hard for anyone who hasn't been through it to understand the difficulty, not only physiscally but mentally and emotionally as well. What a great accomplishment - it was a trip down memory lane for me. I'll bet now that you are home, you have a different definition of what is hard. Things that once seemed impossible are now achieveable, the once difficult is now much easier. You'll carry this accomplishment the rest of your life.

p.s. I was surprised to see you on the lower Kahiltna during the heat of the day - that must have been excruciatingly hot.

Fantastic Kristina - Congratulations!!! I'm behind in my reading on the forums and didn't see this till tonight. Just started looking at the pics and reading the story. Looks simply amazing. I'm on a slow internet connection at the moment so it's going to take a while to get through the 1000+ photos but I definitely want to see them all. It's really wonderful that you were able to work your way into this and get ready so quickly (yes, a year is quickly for this) and succeed on your first attempt. Just a great story.
