Forums upgrade - July 7, 2010

We will be upgrading the forum software during the above window. The forums will be unavailable during this process so as to ensure the integrity of the database.

In addition to a new look, you will now be automatically logged in if already signed into your MWO Web Account.

The expected outage duration is only 1 hour. The maintenance window is 3 hours to allow the administrator plenty of time to get coffee, go on a hike, feed the chipmunks that power the forums, deal with the inevitable chipmunk strike, etc, etc, etc.

You have been hanging out with these weather guys too much. They put 50% chance of rain in the forecast and can't be wrong. Tell everyone it will take 3 hours for the upgrade - get it done in an hour and a half because you blew it and had to reload the software when it should have taken an hour - and come out looking good.

Very nice new layout! The colors are better, and the icons to move around are easier to find. And I like the Go Advanced feature with auto preview. Thanks MWOBS!:cool:

Thanks for all the work to putting this together. There are some neat new features with this version that we will come to like. Navigating will be a bit different for a while as we check out things and see what the new icons mean. But, we will get comfortable with it all. Thanks.

Really like the interface for the new forums. Was well worth the down time for the upgrade. Thanks to Hobbes for getting this done and the others that did the "beta testing" last week. Wish I had been around so that I could have participated in that more. Still happy with the mobile skin for the forums too...

Since the upgrade I can't view the forums on Firefox. Have to use Chrome.

What's happening in FF? I had issues at first where it appeared in text only format. You need to delete the cookies and then it'll load fine.

I am on Firefox right now and it is working fine. It could be that I do not save history when using Firefox. Normally I am using Chrome. But, they both seem to work fine.
