Hi folks,

Two weeks from today, over 3,000 people (hopefully!) will gather at Cranmore Mountain Resort for the Observatory's first-ever benefit concert. Assembly of Dust headlines the special Seek the Peak kick-off concert, which is FREE for everyone who qualifies for Seek the Peak by achieving the $100 fundraising minimum.

Were a small staff and the concert is a HUGE undertaking for us. Yes, it will vault Seek the Peak to a very high level and continue its growth, but we need an army of volunteers to help make it happen.

Our greatest area of need is the morning of Friday, July 23... When the sound/lighting company rolls in with their truck, we need 15 people there to help unload and set up. When the bands arrive, they need people to unload them as well. Several slots are filled, but we are still looking for several additional able-bodied individuals to help with the load-in.

Are you available? Even if you aren't doing STP, we'd love to have you! All volunteers receive a free t-shirt, free food and a free concert ticket.

Thanks!

Hi Scot -
FYI - I just emailed Kim H to let her know she can add this to my other volunteering activities for STP. I might need a STP or MWO fleece for this one though

Thanks

I think you are on to something. He or she who volunteers for the most activities or the most number of hours gets a fleece.

I would like to volunteer to help out at the concert, however, at my age, it is just a bit too hot down there for me this time of year! Not to worry though, I'll be passing through as usual once winter comes!

I might add that if you DO volunteer to help out the Observatory with the concert, I'll be sure to place an extra little star next to your name on my "nice" list...

Best of luck to all of you on your hike!

(and I hope the observers don't botch the forecast for the 24th!)

If you still need volunteers my group of three would be more than happy to help with whatever is needed. Later in the afternoon is better for us. Tell us where and when.

Thanks for the offer! I think we're actually in very good shape for all volunteer aspects of Seek the Peak, except for the morning concert load-in (9:00 AM - Noon) on Friday the 23rd and the concert breakdown that evening (9:30 - 11:30 PM). If you're available and can carry heavy things (like speakers, lights, and cables, for instance...) go ahead and sign up on the STP volunteer page: https://www.mountwashington.org/secure/site/seekthepeak/volunteer.php

In any event, if all you can do is the afternoon of Friday or Saturday, sign up anyway and Kim will be in touch to let you know if there are indeed volunteer slots available.

See you all in less than two weeks! We're getting very excited around here. It's going to be an incredible Seek the Peak!
