Baxter State Park in Maine is like a commie 51st state but if you play by the rules you will have a good time. Just don't even think about camping anywhere but where they say you can. ALL the rangers were nice and VERY informative; overall no issues at all; I'll be back.

Just down climbed this wet mess in 50+ mph winds. I'm alone on this hike and really don't want to fall!

A couple arrived about 15 minutes later as I was eating a snack; they just finished the AT - They started in February!
