Beat cancer, only to die hiking.

I personally would never get that close to any moving water in Tuckerman's!

Reading this again, he walked off trail to the top of a waterfall to get a better look and and the water washed him off the the side to his death hundreds of feet down over a cliff.

So he was not just at the top of the falls, but IN the falls, probably trying to pear over the edge?

The mountains can be unforgiving to those who make light of the risks.

Mount washington is unforgiving. One mistake and that can be it. I have been in the ravine many times and I am wondering what waterfall he walked out to. I would assume it was the one just beyond the headwall as you are climbing up. I have climbed down that section in ice and snow and been extremely scared!!!! Whenever I go thru that section now I stay as far away from the ravine side as possible. So sad that another life was lost on Washington.
